When the Magic Dies

Today I saw the love escape from her eyes

The dream she held fall from her hands

I disillusioned her fairytale

No more suspension of disbelief

I drove a sword through her heart

I Solidified a complex,

Drove the plot too far

She bared it all with me

And I poisoned the fruit,

Transformed her magic to be cold and calloused,

Turned the princess to a witch

The clock struck midnight and I wasn’t there

I spoiled her happily ever after

I’m the toad that stole a kiss

And burned the castle to the ground
