Codename Series (Insight)

The Codename series takes place in the same universe as Pulse & The Agency. It expands upon the world I’ve created, adding characters through short stories. The events of this series are after Pulse but before The Agency. In typical writer fashion, I had the idea for this series before I even finished The Agency series. It was a lot of fun to write and create these characters that I’ve had in my head for many years. Specifically for the villains, I wanted to give them motivations that felt unique and less surface level than a traditional baddie. Something I heard while watching an interview about Breaking Bad has stuck with me for a long time. They explained how when writing the show, they created the character and asked, “What would he do?” Instead of creating a character and having them do what the writer would want that character to do. When I write the stories for my characters, I try to keep this philosophy in mind at all times. I’m unsure how many entries there will be into this series or if any of them will receive sequels, so you’ll just have to stay tuned! I hope you enjoy reading the Codename series by Daniel Peiffer.
