Better on My Own

I’ll build a wall that won’t crack, won’t erode

Nose-to-nose, failure in my face going toe-to-toe

Overdose on dopamine, my conscience is comatose

Just goes to show, darkness can rise at the lowest lows

Guilt nipping at my heels as I cross the line

Somewhere along the way I lost my mind

I feel like Superman pushing people away

Better on my own, you’ve got no reason to stay

Love like bullets, I’m not worth the investment

My character crumbles with each decision given assessment

Watch me fade,

Watch the light inside me fade

Detached and disconnected

I’m not pure enough to save

I’ve got selfishness perfected,

Watch me fade all on my own
