The Devil Saved My Life
I'm feeling damaged, down on my luck, beaten and hopeless
Crying in sorrow, trying to forget, but that's when I notice,
An inner demon's breathing down the side of my neck
He says I'm confined by the stress, I should find how it's best,
Released, that if I was deceased I would be at peace
I said sure but I should think it over at least.
Demon:
"Nah, take a knife and stick it in your chest, rip it to the left
I'll show you true heartbreak and how big it can affect
No one cares about you, nobody's gonna miss you, you have issues.
Aren't you tired of all those late nights using tissues?
You're gonna be single your whole life, alone with no wife
You pathetic piece of shit, grab the handle of that cold knife"
Danny:
"But I can't even do that because I'm such a coward
I don't have the strength nor the power!"
His voice got louder
Demon:
"Listen to me, everyone is better off without you
So prepare yourself, the number ten is what I'm gonna count to"
Danny:
"There's no point, I'm just gonna let you down in the end"
Demon:
"Hmm, well then perhaps you'd be down for revenge?"
Danny:
"What do you mean?"
Demon:
"You know what I mean."
Danny:
"I'm not a bad person"
Demon:
"Oh come on you pussy, bitches hurt you, now you hurt them"
Danny:
"I don't know"
Demon:
"Let's do it, I just can't wait for this!
Remember how months after you she was dating an Atheist?
When that was the whole reason she didn't want to be with you
Or so she said, you know you want to do it, you know it's true"
Danny:
"Maybe.."
Demon:
"Well if we were to, what do you suppose we'd do?"
Danny:
"How about telling her that I'm the wrong person to be mean to?"
Demon:
"That's a start, what about something more physical?"
Danny:
"I don't know about that, I'd find that a little difficult"
Demon:
"Why not? Don't you think she might deserve it?"
Danny:
"Eh, I could just break her window and say it wasn't on purpose"
Demon:
"But remember how she played you? You liked her from day two.
How she made you, fall for her more every day, that was a mistake too"
Danny:
"You're right! Maybe I'll kick her cat too, put her through Hell"
Demon:
"Nice! Any more ideas?"
Danny:
"I have a few"
Demon:
"Ooh do tell"

"I could laugh and say what's the matter aye?
And if she gets mad at it, I'll just smack her face
No need to pretend to be a friend I’ll put an end to this masquerade

I got in my car and I let the rage dwell with me
I was still unsure if I would give into jealousy
Circling the block contemplating the constant hating
My mind wins me over and the drama is escalating
Put the car in park and walk to the door steps
Clenching my fists with anger I knock on the door stressed
She's surprised to see me, I notice what’s on to T.V.
Someone's getting killed, reading into the foreshadow is easy
Grab her by the hair and throw her, watch her cower on the couch
She shouts helplessly, I’ve got all the power in this house
Her (screaming):
"Why are you doing this?
Danny:
"Relax, it's only just begun"
She freezes for a moment, before she gets up to run
Danny (thinking):
"This is fun!"
As I’m about to depict a murder
I kick her sternum, so she can’t get no further
She lands with her back on the floor, I look back at the door
Lock it, turn to her, and I go back for some more
Pick up her fucking computer and use it to crack her ribs
I've had enough and I'm not letting this bastard live
Her:
"You're better than this, you were my friend!"
Danny:
"I was, now I'm Death and this will be your end"
I lean over her and grab her by the throat with a tightened grip
Look her straight in the eyes and ask
Danny (screaming):
"Why you bitch?!?"
Take a knife out my back pocket as she fights for breath
I hesitate for a moment
Her (screaming):
"You need some time to rest!
You're not like this, you were so nice, the best!"
Danny (yelling):
"Shut the fuck up!"
I slash and slice her chest
Digging out her heart and snatching it while it's throbbing
Holding it in the air with a smile on my face and nodding
Danny:
"Now feel my pain, all I want you to do is bleed!
But remember this baby, it's not you it's me!
Why the Hell did you fuck with me?
Once you tease me you're stuck with me
Too bad! Now you can lay there and be dead!"
I stop for a minute to think of all the things that she said
I thought we would make it, watch our whole lives go by
But you ripped my heart clean out and I don't know why
Now I can return the favor with her heart in my hand
My friend here helped me realize the darkness in man
I looked back at him and gave him a demonic stare
Demon (stuttering):
"W-what a monster, I-I’m glad that I got you there"
Who knew a man without God that started to hate his life
Would get a call from the Devil, ready to save his life
