Near-Death

Life is flashing before my eyes

I see, beauty in the lies

If this, truly is demise

Then it’s, soothing to the mind

Life, it’s already on the run

I see, the worst things I’ve ever done

I’ve hurt people more than once

Minutes, mornings, months

Life has, taken on a cherry tone

I see, still images and scenarios

Too many burdens to carry home

Too many skeletons to bury bones

Life has gotten too, complex

I see, a boy so scared of death

He lived in fear and held his breath

He died before his thoughts could rest

Life just flashed before my eyes,

I see,

nothing.
